I usually skip Smackdown for the most part and never watch NXT, but I‘m tuned into RAW and Dynamite faithfully fam..

Because the WWE has programmed people that way. The WWE made it a point to try to become a monopoly for years, and made it seem like non-WWE branded wrestling doesn’t exist, and a lot of their stanbase believe it. Combine that with the general wrestling audience dwindling since WCW went under, you have the state of current mainstream wrestling as we see it. NXT is the best wrestling show on TV, but even though it’s under the WWE brand, there’s still a large segment of people that don’t care to watch. Only good thing is, there’s much more awareness and accessibility for non-WWE wrestling, thankfully.

Lets be real, streaming services damn near saved the business. I mean, who in their everlasting fukking mind going to trade tapes and hit up RF Video, when you can easily access all of that shyt for 9.99 a month. Streaming services however doesn't mean= popularity because if yall look on Twitter, wrestlers are not as appealing as they were in 1998. I wasn’t even watching NXT when it had Wednesday’s all to itself. It’s just not presented in a big enough way to make me feel it’s important.


AEW just has a bigger feel. I’m watching that 10 times out of 10 over NXT
