I was pondering this question as I was heading off to sleep..
We all know how adored he is now after his career..but between switching his name and converting to Islam..refusing to go to war with some of these quotes:
As counter points...Obviously, Ali doesnt have the domestic abuse history and it'd be merely speculative as to whether or not he'd flaunt all the money he would have amassed in todays age in the same arrogant manner that Floyd does...Also, he was very charismatic and "likable" to me and it was perhaps more apparent that his trash talking wasn't necessarily rooted in a mean spirited way compared to Mayweather...but I legitimately am not sure how much he would be hated. His quotes listed above were also rooted in peace and in civil rights injustice...so it is a bit different in comparison to Floyd saying he wouldnt donate to Africa or whatever..but I think there is enough there to at least ponder the question as to whether he would be hated or not, and if so, to what degree. He wasn't always adored during his time as it was. I will definitely say that his in-ring ability and style would be far more respected than Floyd's however.

- No, I am not going 10,000 miles to help murder, kill, and burn other people to simply help continue the domination of white slavemasters over dark people the world over. This is the day and age when such evil injustice must come to an end.
- Why should they ask me to put on a uniform and go ten thousand miles from home and drop bombs and bullets on brown people in Vietnam while so-called Negro people in Louisville are treated like dogs and denied simple human rights?
- My enemy is the white people, not the Viet Cong ... You're my opposer when I want freedom. You're my opposer when I want justice. You're my opposer when I want equality. You won't even stand up for me in America because of my religious beliefs, and you want me to go somewhere and fight, when you won't even stand up for my religious beliefs at home
