The deal with that is that Maron is a type of chestnut, which is what krillin's Japanese name, Kuririn, is a pun of (Kuri=Chestnut, Rin=Shaolin). Krillin's GF Maron was a filler only character, and Toriyama never paid attention to the anime so he gave Krillin's daughter the same name pun.
