Real R&B simply doesn't exist on the mainstream level anyone(with a few exceptions). It's basically back to the 80's. where R&B/Soul really only appealed to Blacks and foreigners .

Artist like Chris B, aren't R&B, they are basically just Pop.

R&B/Soul has gone Underground.

:childplease:

If black musics gone what's gonna be there to replace it? If you take black music away from the charts you don't have a chart no more idiot.

Black music isn't gone, but right now, the state of popular Black music in this country is in confusion.

R&B numbers aren't so great in this climate. Most of the R&B albums released this year have sold between 120-135K this year. Mary J. Blige's My Life II, which was released like November/December 2011 is the last R&B album to have slightly better first week numbers. Beyonce's 4 is the last 300K+ first week.

LOL @ Beyonce flopped. Before Beyonce, the last R&B artist to do Beyonce numbers was back in 2010. It was either Sade's Soldier of Love album or Usher's Raymond vs. Raymond.

shouldn't a supposed R&B veteran have a bigger fanbase than a mediocre rapper debut?

r&b lost for this :snoop:

Nas outsold Usher.. It's not exactly a surprising feat, 2 Chainz is wack as shyt but he DID have the MOST commercialized hype out of pretty much everyone this year...

U silly negros always fixate on album sales . . . u think Jive gives a fukk about him selling 128 or 300 K?

Check how the performance of the songs on the album that went 300 K did

OMG sold 7 mil singles. Basically the album grossed more off 1 single than it did with total album sales 7 million sales of the same single equates to just about 700K albums sold ..

after a while you realize why labels aren't mad that nyggas like justin bieber dont even sell 500 K first week out the gate ...

These nyggas drop a single that white bytches download 5 million time over a few months is equivalent to 500 K records.

NIcki minaj broke it down perfectly but nyggas wont get it... she said

Its so hip hop to be focused on these artists album sales you forget that not all artists really care about big first week numbers ... thats just a hip hop fan mentality. Usher pop breh. he making way more cake now and the label is loving it

Smh @ yall really thinking that its him not singing songs like "there goes my baby" that caused it. silly negros . . .

The person who yall need to analyze is Adele she still outselling nyggas after about 80 weeks on the charts ...in 2 months her weekly sales will be on top of trey, ross, chris brown, 2 chainz ... its not how you start.. its how u finish especially in other genres besides rap

ADELE THE GAWD:win:
