Just have to get out there and do it.

To me it's like the foundation of fitness. If you can't do 20 to 30 push ups (thereabouts) or run a couple of miles without stopping, that should be fixed ASAP. Most people struggle because they don't spend enough time running to learn pacing. If you're a brolic breh with muscle but "iffy" cardio, trying to run 2 miles in 13 minutes will have you :deadrose:.

Mix up outdoor running with treadmill running depending on the weather. Don't look at your watch/phone clock. Time goes by much faster when you aren't looking at the clock. Get inside your own head and just think about anything that makes you happy. Probably best to run a bit slower than you think you need to. A good rule of thumb: once you can run for 30+ minute at a given speed/pace, pick up the pace.

also OP idk if you listen to podcasts but that is a great way for me to make time fly when I’m doing cardio...I don’t listen to it when working w/ weights tho cuz I might get caught up laughing @ something and fukk up...for me it's easier to immerse myself in podcasts than it is listening to music...I find myself still cognizant of time when I have music on

idk if it’s comparative to running...someone can chime in but I prefer biking or even hitting the bag can provide decent cardio

Biking feels a bit easier since there's less pounding on your body but hitting the bag is NO JOKE :whew:. A couple of years ago, there were some heavy bags added to my local gym and no one was using them. I just started throwing jabs, hooks and uppercuts in 2 to 3 minute spurts with about a minute of rest. My shoulders/deltoids were dead and my heart was about to explode. That shyt is ridiculous.

I see why boxers are in such great shape. Makes me appreciate the Mayweather's of the world that much more. Swimming and boxing are the two activities that definitely feel a bit harder than jogging.

Had a flashback to trying out for the soccer team in high school. Coach had us run suicides, but on the football field (sprint to the 10 and back, sprint to the 20 and back etc)....all the way up to the 50-yard line. Then on the way back he'd shout "burpees" or "push-ups" or "sit ups" or "jumping jacks" and we'd have to do 25 of those before getting back up and starting again. :to::shaq2::deadmanny:

I don’t know. I play baseball(outfield) footballand basketball. Just seems natural. Plus I did track and field, cross country in middle school/high school. I just need a track by myself. I don’t like running in groups

No Whammies!!
No easy trick. For me, it gets easier to motivate myself the more I run.

It’s hard af when first staring out after nit running for a while.

Also running outside is way better than a treadmill. More to look at instead of the fat ass in front of you waking at 2mph for an hour

I started running outside on trails long before I started running on roads. It's a lot easier to motivate yourself when you're trying to avoid breaking your toes on rocks and roots. As for running inside on a treadmill, that's just mind-numbingly boring.

The view in the gym makes it feel like an obligation. Timer always in your peripheral. Hit the track/field, switching it up between laps with straight ahead sprints. Do pushups or jump rope between lap/sprints. Got a couple weekends in a row and was looking forward to it over the gym

I'm scared of having a heart attack and I hate running ng. But I know running is the best thing for me and my heart health so I run a minimum 3 times a week, sometimes more.

I used to do it for work first it was for promotion points, than it was to stay out in front of my Soldiers, than it was to stay in front of my company...Than the Army basically said you aren't going to the SGM Academy so now I'm like what do I need to do to get a no running profile fukk running.

Now don't get me confused I value cardio I still get 3 sessions of 25-45 minutes a week between elliptical, and rowing. Mixed in with calisthenics, farmers carries and high volume days I haven't needed to do much running.
