I said clubbing though

"Hey baby, may I go to the grocery store? Is it okay if I wear these jeans, or shall I wear this frumpy coat because it makes you feel more secure?"

"Do you mind if I hang out with my girlfriend, whom I have been friends with for 15+ years? Do you need to know exact GPS coordinates to the place we'll be going to?"

Nahhhhhhhhhhhh.

I'm not big on clubbing. I don't see anything wrong with girls going clubbing with their friends. Listen, I know that guys think chicks are only going to clubs to meet/dance with/flirt with guys. I don't do that...you'll ultimately believe what you want, but I'm just letting you know why from my point of view, it's nothing to panic about. If my friend is hosting her birthday at a club, that's her choice where she wants to celebrate her birthday...and I wouldn't want to miss it just because clubbing isn't necessarily my thing. Hell, I'd love it if my man came with me, to be honest.

What do you mean "let?"

..........I don't get that mentality. Your wife isn't your property. You don't belong to her. You're each individuals who are together not because you have reigns on the other person, but because you want to make each other happy and you believe this is the best match for you.

I've never heard my mom ask my dad for permission to do something like hang out with her friends (unless they are checking to make sure they don't have anything planned with each other first) or vice versa. They sit down and communicate. When my dad is chilling with his friends, my mom isn't at home thinking about what he's up to and he doesn't worry about what she's up to cause they just know that they respect each other in whatever they do. Most of the time, they just hang out with each other, but sometimes they chill with their friends separately.

Any time you give a shyt women will throw that insecurity label on you.
Some of them, anyway. It's a fine line to toe.

I think most people have it in the back of their mind...because in reality, you ultimately cannot control another person's actions (unless you chain them in the basement), no matter how much you try to control the relationship. The beauty of a healthy relationship is trusting yourself to make the right decision for both you and your partner. You know that if you step out, disrespect, hurt someone, you risk losing that person...and you can only hope that the person you marry values your relationship and values you as a person in the same way. Decisions are made as a unit, but you also have to let a person have some freedom and not suffocate them.

That is insecure as fukk.

I cant lie......I went thru a smothering/insecure phase for about a month. Caused a few dumb fights with me and my girl. I snapped out of it.

I trust her but movies/the coli/ and seeing my cousins get cheated on scarred me

any tips for someone who went thru an insecure phase? Or may go thru another ?

I dont give him a reason to worry about my social media followers and neither does my s/o. Of course if I saw things I felt were disrespectful itd be different. I think its all about helping your s/o feel secure. Like of course self-esteem comes from yourself but lets not act like outside comments/actions dont matter. If I saw my s/o online flirting w/his followers, and making sexual comments, I wouldnt be okay with that and I dont think it makes me insecure to feel that way.

But liking someones pics and friendly commenting..no big deal. Thats what you have followers for.

We've all gone through it. I can't sit here and say that I'm always 100% secure and that some things don't make me think "what does this mean?" or if an attractive chick posts on his page I don't wonder who she is and what the inside joke is about. Just ask though. Have your moment, vent, but communicate this with the person and talk it out...don't just go off assumptions all of the time because over-thinking will kill a relationship.

Work on your self esteem. Honestly you have to think "Why would she leave a nikka like me?...I'm the fukking shyt!!" If you're secure about what you have to offer her in a relationship you start to worry about the next person less and less. If she steps out on your, it's her loss. :manny:

You've been cheated on before and you're still alive.

That was beautifully put.

Thanks. And very true.

My girl and I had a talk, communicated, and she said I was kind of smothering her. I kept it real, told her id change and told her why I started to smother her.

we got thru it snd we good now

I would NEVER!!

The last dude I messed with called me before he showered, when he got in the car, in the car with his friends, before he went in the club, after the club and on the ride home so he wouldn't fall asleep while driving. Like six, 5 minute conversations!! Son, I'm trying to go to sleep!! :camby:

Go out and have fun!!
