I wanna manage a rapper and have no experience
This is probably the most sustainable way, and the best way, based on my experiences working in the game in the 2000’s.Find a friend that makes music or an aspiring local artist and ask to be their manager.
It’s stressful as fukk. Definitely ended up not being for me.it's a stressful job
Crazy story. Reminds me of a lot less intense and long haul story. Why would you wanna mange a rapper lol? Managers hella under appreciated and do all the leg work. Especially for an up and coming rapper. My homie but was a manager and from what I noticed, dude cared more about the artist success than the artist. He never got a major deal, but he did have a few offers from major labels that they ended up turning down cause the contracts were so bad. But ironically, he says if he could do it over he would take one of the deals cause it would have got him in the door of the industry and could have parlayed that into more success. He quit after his last group fukked up an opportunity where they wanted to move the whole group to Atlanta. I forgot the label. They was gonna have them in singing and dancing training and had a townhouse for them to live in and shyt. My homeboy worked hard as hell to put that shyt together with some contacts he had with a major r&b artist manager, but the lead singer of the group didn’t want to move to Atalanta. I think that was the last straw and my homie left the music game.

in 2005 I hooked a girl I knew up with an opportunity to sing on a hook for a joint with Mos Def and 9th Wonder. She partied the night before, and was too hungover to make the studio session.
The song never got finished. But regardless. She talked a big game and was super talented, but ultimately didn’t give a fukk.
It’s very true that a lot of artists don’t care as much about their own careers as managers do.
Go to clubs around your city, create friendships with the people running the club. Keep your ear to the street with local talent. When you find local talent that you think is special, get them to perform at the clubs you've be friended. When you show said local talent you can help make them money, you give them papers and basically ask for a 5-10% cut.I wanna manage a rapper and have no experience
lol manager gets paid before the artist.............all that needs to be saidWhy would you wanna mange a rapper lol? Managers hella under appreciated and do all the leg work. No.you need money first and foremost.
And there’s a great chance that you will never get a return on all the money you invest
you playing the odds as well
you don’t put 50k into 1 artist you put 10k into 5 different artist
No.
You find someone to invest in you and don't use any of your own money, like any other company. Don't be stupid.
My fiancee and I started an edm entertainment company in March 2020--made it a LLC in July 2020, we're making profit and have people who are willing to bankroll the next show we do, small to large. It's hard but not impossible.Breh what lol. Good luck on that being a practical solution. Of course in theory that makes sense, but in reality...come on man. Artist and managers typically have to put in hella work before they find the willing investors, unless it’s a family member with money to blow or something.
Dont do that it's hard damn work and the game is rigged for you to only eat if you rip ya artist offI wanna manage a rapper and have no experience
