Wild how long one article of footwear been popular. You had other boots that came and went in popularity...Polo, Nautica, Gor-tex. DC nikkas definitely kept Nike boots afloat

They were always regarded as high quality boots, but they became a year round thing around 91-92, especially in the northeast with the extreme winters.

Yeah..this is the time I first became aware of them..
My sister was at Clark in '92 and I recall her saying that everyone was wearing them.

What I learned about Boots is that you could get durable or confortablity.

nikkas looked at Timbs as the ultimate Outdoor Boot.

The old Super Timberlands ( that they don’t make anymore) was the best at some warmth confort and durability

But you wouldn’t take those boots to the mountains they wouldn’t last.

You’d need a speciality Boot like Mendl’s or Crispi’s Timbs are american made and marketed to Black people despite what they said.

Special Forces was allowed leeway in what they wore but they were encouraged to buy american and they used Mendl’s or Crispis or Danner boots.
