Ice Cube went from being a social political gangsta rapper to a movie screenwriter, director and producer who makes movies that appeal to just about everyone (from stoners to families).

Isn't it all about evolving? I don't get it when people say he sold out because dude expanded his horizon and branched out into movies and has made some ok (1 classic with Friday) movies. I could see if dude was making some c00n movies but he's not. The movies are what they are, an ok comedy, action or drama movie. But it's not like dude is making c00n sh*t.

Cats acting like Ice Cube didn't come from one of the most controversial groups of all time:

Then leave that group and go off and make a name for himself in his own right and become one of the greatest emcess of all time:

ehhh...it's those little kid movies. I don't see anything wrong with it though. Like you said, it's all about evolution. You can't keep your same persona/beliefs forever.

I'm a Cube fan pre-1998 but he did grow up/sell out or whatever you want to call it. At least he's not in the streets gangbanging at 40 years old like Mazarati Fox and them :skip:

I don't think Cube sold out, he tranistioned from music to movies. Which was a smart move.

The same worthless cocksuckers that try to clown Cube for "Are We There Yet" are the same dipshyt fakkits that would call Cube flabby and sick if he was broke and wasn't putting out anything, or making any career moves.

I don't think he sold out, he just grew up. :manny:

But to be fair, what the old Ice Cube considered selling out was going pop, being mainstream and all that shyt. So in Old Ice Cube terms, he did.

selling out has always been changing what you do to cater to another crowd (the mainstream/pop crowd) i don't think Cube has ever gone from Wrong nikka Ta fukk Wit to something like a Vanilla Ice song or a fully pop record. even with something like We Be Clubbing, he didn't just completely trash what he was doing before, he didn't switch up his flow and try to be softer or anything like that and it was for a soundtrack about strip clubs

He didn't sell out he just grrew the fukk up and maximized his potential earnings by transitioning to kid friendly movies. But he's still capable of bringing heat on the microphone.
