I don't see that happening again anytime soon for a center. And he did this at 6'9-6'10. Just don't get why bigs can't dominate like that anymore.
4 years of college to work on his game, learn to play big and to figure out what works and what doesn't. There's honestly very little player development that takes place in the NBA, especially as far as big men are concerned. On the flipside in College from March till the next season is basically nothing but time to work on your game with coaches.

The college argument is true, but I also think that the emphasis by the league to push guards is what contributed to this shift. Centers hit the league a lot older and a lot more seasoned and ready to contribute. Is it really just a coincidence that the last great big man drafted also happens to be a dude that spent 4 years in college.
