You don’t know what you’re talking about and that’s ok
I grew up in uptown new Orleans in the 80s and 90s but I don't know ok. I've seen nikkas robbed for less fam. Maybe your ignorance comes from your childhood. Everybody don't grow up the same but I'll let you slide bc you seem a little retarded and I feel bad for you.

I don't know what age you mean by prime but being a kid or teen in the 80's was GOAT!

As a nikka that actually grew up in the 80's... not born in the 80's, Yes... being a teen in the 80's was fun. I wouldn't want to grow up in any other time period.

This time period below can't be topped as far as growing up...

70's - Baby/kid
80's - Kid/Teen
90's - Teen/Young Adult

As a kid who was born in the 70's and grew up in the 80's... I grew up with Hip Hop. From the Sugar Hill Gang's - "Rappers Delight" in 1980 all the way to Dr Dre's - "The Chronic" in 1992... all before graduating high school. Yep... us 80's kids grew up with Hip Hop.

I remember being a kid watching movies like Krush Groove in a packed theater in the mid 80's with everybody in the theater singing all the words to all the songs and having fun.

Man... yall dudes have no idea what it was like to be a kid in the early 80's when the Break dancing craze swept the nation. I remember watching the movie Beat Street in a packed theater and when the movie was over and we were leaving nikkas started a break dancing battle right there in the lobby... nikkas was killing it... nikkas was break dancing just as good as the dudes in the movie. Now picture being a kid in the 80's that loves Hip Hop witnessing that.

It's cool to have grown up in a period that so many people now fantasize about. Looking back now... I see why people fantasize about the 80's. It just seemed like a cool time to be a kid, teen or young adult... and it was.

If time travel ever became possible and everybody had the choice to only go back to the 70's, 80's or 90's... the 80's would easily win as the most traveled to decade out of the three.

It's 2019 and people still fantasize and talk about the 80's more than any other decade. I was at work the other day and a couple college students were saying they wish they grew up in the 80's or could go back in time and visit the 80's because it looked like so much fun. Oh... and let's not talk about how Hollywood is trying to remake every single movie from the 80's or these musicians trying their best to make songs that sound like the 80's. 200 years from now... if humans are still on this planet they will still be talking about the 80's. LOL

Growing up in the 80's can't be topped in my opinion.
