Facts.. As they themselves stated they needed to beat Tyson for their legacies.. Tyson didn’t need to beat them because by the time the 80s closed out he was already being talked about as one of the greatest heavyweights ever. Beating a washed Tyson gave both a boost.

What? Holmes was undefeated and closing in on Marcianos record.. there’s no shame in “almost losing to Holmes twice” who is a legit top 3 heavyweight.. this isn’t horse shoes.. almost doesn’t count.. Spinks a light heavy beat the undefeated lineal champ twice. He was a great fighter.
