jake long over matt ryan was the right move at the time. long been of the best LTs in the league even tho prolly not as good to be worth
#1
none of you explained HOW he ruined the franchise. besides cutting two over the hill legends and a bad pick in pat white. guess what, everyone makes bad picks. the guy before him took ginn jr and john beck, for christs sake. beli routinely makes shytty picks and chicago has one good pick in a decade.
sparano doesnt know x's and o's ?
you think an offensive line coach is just rah rah ? wtfff
ireland is looking "infinitely smarter" ?
do you even watch football ?
How was taking Long over Ryan the right move? He's the 2nd best LT in the NFL, and yet where has that gotten us? Meanwhile, Matt Ryan would probably be the league's MVP if the season ended today.
People were 50/50 in terms of Matt Ryan being a franchise guy when he was coming out, and while Long might have been the "safer" pick, that's exactly what had been wrong with the whole Parcells regime. We were always doing the "safe" thing and it got us nowhere. Make a list of the best LT's in football and tell me how many Super Bowls their teams have won recently.
Parcells was paid a LOT of money to come down here and build a contender. That never happened. He failed at his job, why can't you see that?
He's supposed to be some kind of football guru and yet this moron was wasting picks on scrubs and trying to draft for the wildcat smh... his years here were basically a waste, what exactly did he accomplish? We were a mediocre team before he got here, and we were mediocre after he left.
and no, Sparano is a rah rah guy that has no business coaching in the NFL from an X's and O's standpoint... look at the Fins offense during his tenure, and look at the Jets this season; he's completely in over his head when it comes to the modern day passing game... only coach in the league that would run onto the field and fist pump after his team squandered a red zone opportunity and was forced to settle for 3 points... the sad part is, some of Parcells picks aren't looking THAT bad in hindsight because they're producing under the new regime, but he was the one that chose Sparano as HC in the first place, so ultimately it's his fault
and yes, Ireland is looking infinitely smarter with Parcells gone... for one, he managed to find us a potential franchise QB, something Parcells never did... secondly, Pouncey, Daniel Thomas, Charles Clay, Jimmy Wilson, Tannehill, Johnathan Martin, Vernon, Lamar Miller, and Kheeston Randall are all players drafted in the last two years that have a future with this team
not to mention, he signed our best offensive player in Reggie Bush to a reasonable deal rather than overpaying for D'Angelo Williams in FA... Kevin Burnett is also playing great on D this year, Ireland signed him to an average sized deal, as well
Ireland calling the shots by himself >>>>>>>>>>>> Parcells being in charge
