and those were right cuts too. business never personal. those two didnt do jack shyt after. taylor was never the same, and didnt do anything on other teams, and thomas retired after a year in dallas

ok and ? point was the cuts were entirely justifiable. those players fell off and they werent playing at high level. even if he kept them they wouldnt be playing well.

Jake Long wasnt a bad pick but people forget this because offensive line doesnt put up stats. This is obviously a

also, we weren't nearly as bad as our 1-15 record indicated the year before, we just had crazy injuries... once Trent Green, Zach Thomas, and Ronnie Brown got injured, we weren't going anywhere, so we traded Chris Chambers and that essentially ended our season... like someone else said, Pennington basically fell into his lap, Ronnie and Ricky came back healthy, Joey Porter beasted, and we had the easiest schedule in the league that year, hence us winning the division
dude drafted Jake Long over Matt Ryan... then drafted Henne in the 2nd round that same year, setting the franchise back until this season
he hand picked Sparano to be our coach, who had an archaic football philosophy and didn't know X's and O's at ALL
then came the wildcat shyt and we waste a 2nd rounder on Pat White smh
the funny part is, now that he's gone, Jeff Ireland (who used to get the majority of the blame for our shytty draft picks as the "GM" even though Parcells was calling the shots) has looked infinitely smarter and is building the team the right way
Parcells philosophy just doesn't work anymore... it's a passing league based largely on speed; if it was up to him, Tuna would draft DTs, OGs, TEs, and FBs with every pick

jake long over matt ryan was the right move at the time. long been of the best LTs in the league even tho prolly not as good to be worth #1
