Certain names would be cooler with black as a prefix, but they don't have it. Like Black Storm (indicating a dark stormy thundercloud) or Black Bishop (indicating the black bishop on the chessboard, not the white one)

But really we need to talk about cac heros like Black Widow appropriating names. :scust:

Black Panther gets a pass, cause a black panther is a specific type of panther that has melanism (opposite of alibinoism).
Cougars, jaguars and leopards are all panthers... so a black panther is a specific type of animal.

The most fukked up superhero was this fat white dude called the Brown Bomber. He would become a buff black dude, fight crime, then go back to being a fat piece of shyt cac. He was created by Dwayne McDuffie (creator of Static Shock :rip:) to highlight how racist the comic industry can be.
Dwayne McDuffie was a real one.

As a black person i know why its done but as a black person the question is why was it done that way...
they could have just name him lightning man or some shyt... The Manta...the Vulcan ...

Hell they didnt call spanish characters Captain Hispanic or something

Because during the timeframe those characters were being created.. they didn't need/want to. So they threw the black which was obvious in ur face:skip:
