It's funny, I post serious analytic reviews here of everything I watch. This forum isn't necessarily as open-minded as it thinks it is. There's definetly a "type" of movie preference here. Sometimes I post on Nolanfans.com or IMDB if I want some real dialogue about a film because dudes may not be feeling the film here. Had to do that for 'Cabaret' the other night because my thread on it flopped. Now just because dudes don't have comments about 'Cabaret' doesn't mean I have shyt tastes. It won 11 Oscars and keeps getting revived. And just because I'm not flashing my titties in a review doesn't mean I'm fat or ugly. Also, the whole "females have shyt taste in film" is real funny considering all of the new women directors doing quality film now. They didn't pull that talent out their ass- they're film buffs.
like i said, they may not relate to them the same way we do because these movies are not as geared toward them as they are to men. that doesnt mean they wont see them as a good time waster or have some interesting elements. i doubt you ask those women about movies where women are the primary characters, and it would be hard to since those movies are few and far between. i could imagine if the shoe was on the other foot and most mainstream fiction was aimed at women, your interests in movies might be a bit more shallow...

I just watched Cabaret a couple of days ago, I missed your thread on it. I thought it was great, so many parts had me I wanted to save Sally The final shot
The dude who played the emcee was amazing as well, that sleazy charisma Had the soundtrack on rotation the past couple of days.
I still need to catch it but it's waiting for me. I heard how depressing it is

because most theatrical releases are not really woman centered?May I ask what makes you doubt that?
