Where It’s Not Safe

This was an everyday fit. Not just funerals, job interviews or for businessmen

Men in general had a more mature sense of style. Even teenagers and kids wore suits and business casual attire back in the day (20’s, 30’s,40’s, 50’s)

Now u would be hard pressed to find a man in a suit or dappered up unless he’s a professional, older dude, or going to a funeral. T shirt and jeans. And I cant even say that cuz everyone is wearin joggers or track suits/pants.

What caused this shift?

I remember seeing pictures of my grandfather working a plow on his farm when he was young. He had on a beat up fedora a white dress shirt, some suspenders and slacks.

I was like

Being dapper was more important back then. Everyone wanted to look like they were about some business.

Now everyone spends more on fashionable casual clothes than business attire.

I had to have a wake up all about that. If youre spending $250 on Jordans but youre wearing $70 Stacy Adams to work you need to hold this L.

You can always dress down dress shoes. You cant dress up sneakers

That was relative new fashion for its time. The modern suit was invented in the late 1800's and Jeans were invented shortly after. Both styles evolved.

High quality jeans became less expensive over time were widely adopted and were durable, high quality suits require hand stitching and are expensive, in america its kinda rare these days . Comfort is a big factor too.
