I've commented on his flaws before on why he's often left out of the top 5 convo, but I'll give an abridged version here. it's like you're on a road trip however you're unsure of the destination, you're following some friends in a separate vehicle in front of you....you get lax allow a few cars to get in between and before you know it you've lost sight of the car you were following, they've taken separate off ramp etc...etc.. that's the case with a lot of these artist who don't follow the culture as close as many other do, and generally it's your heavy, lyrically inclined rappers hence they rely more on gimmicks to get a buzz hence the recent k-dot thing and Eminem who has no absolutely no club bangers it's white folk that keep him a float. secondly primarily hip-hop is an individual sport, he chose to throw his hat in the ring of "rap groups" which really aren't much of a thing any longer just like their are no longer r&b groups when before that was a staple in order to break into the business. And lastly I say it's like vitamin water what I mean by that is, it was a novice concept to put something healthy in an ordinary beverage, but there's also a lot of sugar in vitamin water as well, so what I mean is lyrically you have to balance how much knowledge, lyrical miracle Bullsh*t you gone put in your lines vs what you know will sell and keep you relevant/ my guess is and proof is in the pudding no pun intended/ he just said f*ck it! You gone get these bars and you see where that's gotten rappers like himself and lupe relegated to hip-hop lure on antiquated blogs....but Hov, Biggie left blue print to really I mean really do both, black thought just ain't put enough "THOUGHT" into his rhymes, you don't have to explain every little thing less is more , it's a gift and a craft....some still obviously haven't learned...
