Nas low key fukked it up for everyone in the hairline game. Look back in the early seasons of "The Fresh Prince" and the first 2 House Party films. Cats hairlines weren't shaped up like that at all. Nas came out and forced everyone to get the super sharp hairlines.

Though I do know some caucasians to have more of a "all blacks do this" generalization type of view, I wonder if it's just sneak diss racism instead of pure ignorance.
As said before, their women do pay attention to this type of thing. Were shape ups given to slaves? Too many levels.

Shape ups a contemporary thing. You never seen MLK or Malcolm X with an artificial shart hairline. You never seen Michael Jackson with one back in the 80s. Or KRS in his prime. It was a mid 90s thing that sprung out of control and accelerated baldness for many brehs.
i gotta couple brehs that can get a edge up every week and their hairlines are still crisp as it was in HS. but MOST dudes that was on that tight edgeup wave are walkin round one with receding hairlines or baldies now

Why though? What makes a jagged or moon crescent hair line less desirable? The appluads a black man receive for a pointy hair line turn into strange feelings when it's a black woman, a vice versa.
