Yeah that was due to poverty and the crack epidemic plaguing the black community causing a increase in killings , robberies etc and cacs ain't want those problems so they dipped off but in that time span the property values dropped but we ain't take the initiative to buy up the property when it was the perfect time , but now the coast is clear they coming back to the city and purchasing property causing increase in rent and setting up shop in areas black resided for like 30+ years . Music and messages that promotes having knowledge of the past. Music and messages that promotes being responsible with your money and to promote your fellow black business. Music and messages that promotes being a REAL MAN by providing for and protecting our women and children. Music and messages that promotes leading a healthy lifestyle and being alcohol and drug-free. Music and messages that tells our youth that they can be something other than dopeboys and violent savages. Modern-day hiphop teaches AGAINST all of this. Dont you understand? "Change" starts with a mindset. We need a new "consciousness" as a people. Change starts when black people on a mass scale is of the mindset of being willing to DIE and SACRIFICE for the betterment of the black race as a whole.
