How can you claim to be against white supremacy, but still perpetuate its legacy?

I found the lyrics and I'll admit i used a bad example:francis:

i mean, it's just a silly argument bruh. no other group would even allow music about killing their own to be released. if you replaced "nikkas" with any other group, the music would never be tolerated. but long as black folks promote killing other black folks, no one has a problem.

the saddest thing is that WE OURSELVES have no problem with it. We call it "just entertainment":mjcry:

90% of all pop media is sex and violence.

You don't fight propaganda by demonizing the victims.

And beyond any of that, pop culture is the least of our worries as I said. You are fighting an effect instead of the cause, white supremacy.

:whew: That's it right there. But PhonZhi wants to be stuck on stupid and support misogynistic perpetually petulant white rappers. :pachaha:

All rappers don't have to make the same type of music
You can watch this short clip or not:

He's speaking on how alot of times record labels wont ALLOW these rappers to rap about positivity. How they are forced to only make music that paints black people in a bad light. This goes on ALOT. Im telling you breh, shyt is REAL. They want as little positive images of the black race out in the mainstream as possible. Keep thinking its "just entertainment". The average black person relates more to Lamar & Cole than Rick Ross, 2Chainz, Lil Wayne, Future, Bobby SchMurda, Young Thug, Fetty Wap, Migos. They're not going to push the "real" image of the black male, Their gonna push the stereotypical images mostly.

this thread is done breh. You sounding stupid right now. The guy you quoted even acknowledges that the image of the black race is still being intentionally manipulated today in 2015 for white supremacy gain. A practice that you deny and call a "conspiracy"

Checking ourselves does not equal parroting white supremacy. Some black folks do things that are deleterious to the cause and those things need to be addressed so that we can all improve. The biggest problem with this current generation of people is that anything other than blatant ass kissing is considered an attack. Nobody believes that they should be checked. White folks may use certain talking points when pushing a certain agenda but best believe they don't truly give a fukk. White supremacists like it when black folks kill other black folks. They like it when our women make poor choices and our men don’t do their jobs and in turn the next generation suffers. They like it when being “real” means rejecting education and harming your community. They like having kids looking up to mumble mouthed sociopathic cross dressing drug addicts. What they don’t like is black folks rejecting these things and yearning for more and working to come together and do better. The only way to end white supremacy is to stop clinging to things that it has pushed upon us (the hood, broken families, lack of unity, prison, genocide etc) and just do what is best for us as a community without worrying about what white folks are saying.
Yep, a new mindstate. Thats what im in here tryna tell these idiots. Instead of glorifying these things, they must be shunned and deemed unacceptable. We HAVE to raise our own standards.

Here you are stereotyping black people as some monolith. A lot of black people would look at that stuff and view it as the empty filth that it is.

The "main theme in hiphop" is not synonymous with black culture.

That's the mistake you are making. Rap is not black culture. Its American culture. And by singling black people out and claiming they aren't enlightened/strong enough to not be influenced by it , is beyond wrong its damaging, and creates an easy scapegoat by blaming "black culture" instead of the root of the problem.

That's exactly what you are doing. Making a comparison and talking about what black people need to do in relation to white folks.

from this thread
http://www.thecoli.com/threads/do-y...tomatically-assume-you-like-rap-music.351994/

I like when they do because its my culture.

I guess you don't because rap is African American culture and you probably hate us AAs cuz white people told you to.

wait, isn't rap just entertainment. how is it your culture?

Rap is music and is African American culture like Latin music is Latino culture

clearly the line is blurred between rap and culture and for MANY its one in the same.

The 215
why doesn't the mainstream sounds and images reflect this? THIS is the most important question yet. You CANNOT ignore this question. We need an answer. @MeachTheMonster @philmonroe yall mind giving an answer to this??

If most black people are "regular people living their lives" (which i def agree with) Why doesnt that reflect in the mainstream? Why are the main images and sounds of blacks the negative stereotypes? Caricatures? Why are the main images of the black male, materialistic swagged-out dopeboys, thugs and savages? Yall can only name 2 "regular" mainstream rappers. Why is that?
I don't know what mainstream you apart of my mainstream different from yours cause I see regular black folks not this shyt some of you dudes see.

furious:wow:

My words make you furious:wow:
Its nothing you can do to make me furious. Keep thinking so though it help you feel better about yourself.

the day that we "wake up" will be the day that we no longer "accept" our image being distorted and manipulated for money and white supremacist gain. You've already acknowledged "propaganda" so you know it exists.

Like i said earlier, if black people ever awakened, our entire mindset would change. No longer would we allow our image to be purposely manipulated and call it "entertainment". You @philmonroe & @Barnett114 call this intentional manipulation of the black image "just entertainment". What this tells me is that you all have a long way to go to being "woke". Right now all of you are still sleep.
fukk it if you are what "woke" is I'll stay in a coma.

so the intentional demonization of the black image through media is still happening in 2015. You acknowledge this. Ok. Im glad you aren't that dumb to think this was a "conspiracy" like @philmonroe @Barnett114 & @THEREALBRAND
Ive shut your own thread down enough here. Stop spreading lies to the people. Ill be there every time to shut it down.
You soo woke how has it helped you in life Mr Stay woke? You should be sooo far ahead since you aren't impacted by this stuff where are you at? Some of these dudes on the coli looking for a hero be one tell us how far your way of living has gotten you. Let's see what fruits your way of living produces.

cotdamn @MeachTheMonster @philmonroe @Barnett114 @HankHill @God's Gift. @THEREALBRAND got manhandled in this thread:wow:

too many corpses left behind for the vultures:wow:

Only thing getting manhandled is your jaws.

Tha Land
This kind of self defeating thinking is how we lost rock music
We didn't "loose" anything. we live in a country full of different people. Culture gets shared. things change

The idea that "black' or "white" exists in a vacuum is asinine

Werd which is why I cant take him seriosuly.

Id rather listen to someone who would rather see black people rise than someone who is so fast to give white people power.
saying Rap has become Pop/mainstream/American culture is not giving away any power, its simply stating fact.

rap music is no longer what young black kids do on the corner.

So just like I asked @marcuz which he was afraid to answer. Is Basketball "white culture"

its funny yall go through the thread saying The music is bad and it doesn't represent the average black person, black people don't control it, and its being used to brainwash young black kids.

Then you wana turn around and argue that its synonymous with black culture.

So are you saying black culture is synonymous with murder, sex, drugs, misogyny, ect?
