How can people be disgusted at eating bugs...

I once ate caterpillers at someone's house i was 8 or 9. They were stewed. I remeber them being delicious.
I nagged my mom a while later to buy and cook them for me. They were horrible. I don't know if she did it on purpose or she just didnt know how to cook em. But I never ate them agaian.
I always look at shrimp in the supermarket and they always pass coz they dont look appetising. Though lobster and crab flesh look like its delicuous but I can never order either when Im out.

I cannot eat whole shrimp for this very reason. Also seeing whole crab and not just the legs

In my culture there are some bugs that are eaten. That's MY culture though, don't know about everybody else. 
Gonna try them eventually
