well damn my bad i could swore you said you got a job at a pizza place in another thread.......warehouse though, good luck with that i worked at one for 3 months shyt was like a revolving door of outcast/weirdos and junkies.........like i said why limit yourself to 4 days, unless you got underlying issues it shouldn't be a problem....if you constantly in a social atmosphere night in night out then thats yo problem right there.....drinking water constantly helps:manny:

There's no denying I have underlying mental issues. Otherwise I wouldn't choose to box and get punched in the head for free. I'm an amateur so I don't get paid for my fights

And if you worked in a warehouse you should know why I need alcohol to get through the days. I work 10 hour shifts and I work nights.

I'm not trying to be a great athlete. Boxing is about skills.

And so many great boxers have had addiction problems. Most of them have been coke and alcohol addictions too.

Carlos monzon and nicolino locche were two of the best boxers of all time and they are both known for chain smoking. They called monzon "iron lungs" because of his stamina and how much he smoked.

A d don't get me started on the coke heads and alcoholics in boxing. :usure:
I guess it's gonna take you to be hit rock bottom (jail, prison or death bed, fired etc) to wake up..

Alcohol has been found to alter DNA, that's something you can't really "minimize."

Good luck

Ehh you don't need it bro. I used to be a heavy drinker, til i got tired of that fukked up feeling. Today i had like 3 shots of yac and a glass of wine and that was too much for me. i have 1-2 servings of alcohol per WEEK. You really don't need it. You will be happy when you give it up. "sweating out the alcohol" isn't gonna change what it does to your liver and your brain. Not tryna sound like a preacher or nothin, just keeping it funky.

THE ONLY WAY TO MINIMIZE THE DAMAGE IS TO MINIMIZE THE DRINKING, BROTHER! YOU CAN REMEMBER TO NEVER DRINK ON AN EMPTY STOMACH, ALWAYS DRINK PLENTY OF WATER, AND TAKE TIME OFF FROM DRINKING WHEN YOU FEEL LIKE CLEARING YOUR HEAD, BUT THERE'S NO WAY TO COMPLETELY NEGATE THE SIDE-EFFECTS OF ALCOHOL, DUDE! GOOD LUCK, MEAN GENE! I'LL CRACK A MILLER LITE FOR YOU, BROTHER! ME AND SCOTT HALL USED TO DRIVE DOWN THE ROAD DRINKING A LOT OF MILLER LITES, DUDE!

and nah I'm not about to tell you to stop drinking or whatever.

I been a heavy drinker for the greater majority of my life. Stopped drinking for 30 days on a whim.

I don't feel "GREAT" or anything like that. I don't feel anything at all but sober.

I got 5 days left, and honestly I can't wait to take a swig of vodka and chase it with beer.

That warm glowy feeling.... it's like a hug. from the inside. :ahh:

Only positive I can even see is how I KNOW I can't drink like I used to after this. My tolerance is shot.

It would kill me.

be very careful, my brother was a pro football player (german league though), but all that social drinking and coke sniffing turned him an alcoholic in a few years, now we have to pick him up from a hospital every few weeks

By simply minimizing the source of the damage.
The damage is caused by the drinking which is caused by your job and/or your mental issues. Quit your job or fix your mental issues. Or both.

You're 18.
So, objectively, you're way too young to be an alcoholic. Don't get me wrong, there's no age to be an alcoholic obviously but I wouldn't care if you were 40. At 18, you just subtracting a good amount of years on your life expectancy. You're not a minor anymore so it's not up to us to hold your and nobody but you will decide for yourself. But the fact remains that this thread proves that you care about the consequences off your drinking and that you're not on that YOLO motto. So I can only advice you to nullify the consequences instead of hiding them.
