I don't really fukk with Cyborg the way I do with Black Panther. How can DC make him interesting and not just a sidekick, because he's pretty lame to me.

Steel was a much more fascinating character to me growing up to be honest

Wouldn't mind a proper reboot instead of that Shaq mess we got years ago

There's rumors of a Reign of the Superman film coming soon so it's possible he'll be back

edit: Apparently it's an animated film, but I'm totally okay with that also

He can't. Black Panther has a legacy behind him that makes him a staple of comic book history. Cyborg is a cool character but when people think of prominent black super hero's you usually hear Black Panther, Storm and Cage mentioned. Static probably would come b4 Cyborg in a lot of people's minds also.

Does BP just show a glaring weakness in their canon? They have no one who could duplicate the cultural zeitgeist that BP is currently doing. Not on any tip. WW is as close as they can come and really comic books aren't something too many of that demo can get deep into.

dc just tryna catch up

they historically ain't invest in the character like they did the other big guns

so now they gotta spin some new shyte

cyborg is popping with the kids doe the teen titans cw shyte

the mother box angle could be cool let him be on some real world breaker level with the heavyweights

Cyborg isn’t that type of character. For one he works best in a group setting because he thrives when there’s someone to bounce off of.

Two he doesn’t have the African lineage to tap into. He’s more sci-fi and comedy.

C, victor stone is just a different person and a weirder story to get into. There’s drama there and a lot of stuff to pull from definitely because it’s the Frankenstein story. Plus he’s got this complex relationship with his dad and his mom isn’t around and yeah it’s a lot of shyt you can do with that. But a story about a half man half robot who keeps half his face covered and has daddy issues isn’t going to be the big audience movie, at least not in my mind. It can be a really good movie but it’s not an event film like black panther. Even static can’t be an event film. Again cyborg works best as part of a group. Teen titans, justice league is where he should be.

There are a lot more Randy and Titos in the world than there are Michaels.

A jon Stewart green lantern movie is the closest you’d get to that from dc. It’s for the space opera aspects, jon doesn’t cover his face up, he’s one of the most powerful people in the galaxy, he’s one of the most strong willed, it has a lore and a mysticism to it, it’s new worlds and adventures and he’s an army man so there’s a war aspect to it as well

I just don't his appeal without the Teen Titans, he's just really boring to me. I hope DC does something really cool with before his solo film.

That’s the point tho. It’s why his movie is or was going to be a tag team with flash. They didn’t initially plan for it to just be him. Obviously those plans probably have changed but they knew early on he’s not a solo star.

This. I could see John Stewart Green Lantern working or even Static but DC has shown a lot f neglect to these characters. They're would be some nostalgia from the old cartoon shows to play of with a good enough writer for either.

Static doesn’t feel like an event movie to me either. Grant it I never got into the cartoon but there needs to be a specific voice to that character and that world from what I do know of him. But it still doesn’t scream event movie to me. If OP is asking can these movies be good and make money? Of course. They can be hit movies. But black panther is looking to be more than just a “hit movie” and we can’t wxpect every single movie starring a black superhero to do the same thing. This is special. This is a big deal.

Jon can be that big of a deal because there’s enough there with just the basics of the character to rope a larger audience in. Static and cyborg don’t have that stuff going for them
