And I'm telling you from someone who was in middle school during that era, she was just another chick. I just posted tracks throughout this thread of all the talent we had during that period. Real talk she was just in the "mix" she had a nice little thing going and it was cut short, but let's not act like her music was exceptional. :what: it was okay and she has zero classics. She never comes up in discussions. It's only in discussions about Beyonce :pachaha: and on some hypothetical hating shyt. It's pretty pathetic cause babygirl deserves better than that.

If anything we completely ignore how wildly popular Brandy was.
I'm not disagreeing cause you're older and lived it. But would you say Bey's discography >>> Aaliyah's?

And people do forget Brandy.

Bruh, why are you talking like this chick is your rebellious niece or some shyt? Writing out personal advice for her as if she's gonna read it and apply it to her life.

The whole vibe you give off is like one of those obsessed fans who end up stalking and killing a celebrity. You ol' Mark David Chapman ass nikka.

Dude, it's constructive criticism. I can't stop the chick. i'm just warning a lot of broads that come across this thread. Hopefully some people change. Who cares?

That's why you go around bytching about relationships everyday on the locker room because a lot of females listen to this broad and think they are equal to you on some feminist boring crap.

Back in the early 2000s, I never fukked with chicks who really loved and quoted lines from sex and the city = FEMALE THROWN TO THE BUSHES immediately.

Look at her dumb no personality having face. This current generation really likes fake shyt, people who aren't real.

Fake hair, fake bodies, fake music, fake news, fake food, doctored images, soulless music and the list goes on etc....

breh music is a matter of taste but tastefully speaking yes. You don't win 16 grammy's for nothing.

There is nothing Aaliyah ever made better than Cater 2 U, Me Myself and I, Sweet Dreams, Baby Boy, Love On Top, Until the End of Time, etc and her feature game is :lawd:...A lot of these dudes is salty man. They like potential, unfinished products. It's easy to speculate then to congratulate.

Seriously dude LMAO. I have heard these songs, they are not memorable or enjoyable like that.

Potential for geniune greatness has been wasted numerous times. Enough of the manufactured choreographed bullshyt, grammy's don't mean shyt.

No music from the heart just utter greed man.

First, you got me confused with these other coli dudes. I don't bytch about relationships. Normally I'm :russ: at the people who do.

Second, you're too emotional about this for it to be "constructive criticism." Never mind the fact that giving constructive criticism to someone who doesn't and will never know you exist is ridiculous in itself

Third, you're giving Beyonce waaaay too much power lmao. Feminism existed before Beyonce was even thought of and it will exist long after. Any chick who needed a damn Beyonce song to transform from some weak-minded housewife into a raging man hater was gonna turn out like that anyway.

You sound like one of those Fox News reporters who blames everything on hip hop or movies.

I don't like 99% of Beyoncé music,i give her a pass cuz she wit Hov and more importantly she fine as hell:blessed:...Aaliyah did make better music in my opinion, but ima big R Kelly fan and most of my favorite songs of hers is from that album. Personality yeah she was more likeable and not a media trained robot like Beyoncé....but I think what we learned today is that the only problem with Beyoncé is that the media treat her like she the only chick in rnb,and even imo go out of they way to downplay other rnb chicks soon as the opportunity comes just to make sure Beyoncé remains on top,any other field they try to push these old nikkas into retirement:camby:....I don't know if that speaks to the connection she has with her fans,or connections she has in the business. But she doin something right, she definitely has a place in the game. Alicia Keys had her foot on Beyoncé neck for a second there I thought then she married Swizz Beatz and aint been the same since:snoop:..please just let other females in rnb shine like they did in the 90's,2000's. Its shame everybody cant appreciate beyonce impact and longevity because it appears shes being forced on us due to lack of competition. Not that its a lot of talent out there, but I know I aint the only one who notice everytime one start lookin like a threat to beyonce the suddenly meet they demise and face character assasinations and blackballing:mjpls:...not sayin its coming from her, probaly female beyonce stans on the blogs hatin. but who else done it as big as bey for as long?

Beyonce sucks but no need to be this angry about it. Aaliayah would be irrelivent if she was still alive just like most other legends immortalised by death.

lol breh Alicia Keys fell the fukk off like John Legend like D'Angelo, like Lauryn Hill..:patrice: Something about that type of music that has a short shelf life. They got classic albums, but seem to have blew their artistic load all at once. Maxwell and Sade have remained in the game making quality music. Badu as well. But those mentioned just ain't making that music anymore. We saw flashes with

:lawd: but can she capture the You Don't Know My Name magic? I still think she has it in her. John Legend just said fukk it. :manny: Beyonce one of the biggest celebrities out here and she is literally in her "prime"..

Put Aaliyah on at a party with 90's kid and the party will be poppin. These kids are too young to know about Aaliyah

I did this blend years ago on her Death Date and played it at parties as a tribute and to slow things up and it's always a hit. I'm talking chicks grinding and singing and etc. Quite possibly one of the best "technically" on point blendz i've ever done.

@AgentT @Anothergirl [tagged just because]

But yea it is getting to the point now that some kids dont really know of her unless Drake or Chris Brown bring her up...that's how my lil cousin found out about her and then she came to me asking if i had her albums. Now she loves Aaliyah and was like "y'all had all the good R&B artist back then"
