Comparing Ashanti and Ciara to Aaliyah is ridiculous. I had a lil baby crush on her as a toddler but I objectively remember her star power. Her fans connected with her. I'm not familiar with either artist's full albums but from the consensus Aaliyah's stuff had more soul/weight to it whereas Bey is just getting in such a realm with these last two albums.

And I'm telling you from someone who was in middle school during that era, she was just another chick. I just posted tracks throughout this thread of all the talent we had during that period.
