Seal was huge in the 90’s. Like household name in mainstream America. He was a mainstay in adult contemporary radio even before the song off the Batman soundtrack. But that song off the Batman soundtrack was everywhere. It was like one of the main promotional tools for the movie. That song was in Tv commercials, performed on major stages in the national media. He smashed both prime Heidi Klum and Tyra Banks. :mjtf:Anybody saying Seal wasn’t relevant in the 90’s wasn’t old enough to remember the 90’s.

Time to hurt y’all feelings, Nas, Jay Z were all unknowns when their debut albums dropped, nobody really bought their shyt or was bumping their shyt in America outside of the projects in NYC in 94’ and 96’ respectively. Jay didn’t become a household name until late 98’. Gnause was constantly ridiculed in the 90’s, Big was crowned King of NY in 94’, not Gnause... he was called a pandering sellout and Pac knob slobber when It was Written dropped and called mid when I Am dropped and called straight wack when Nastradamus dropped. But Seal in 94’ was big like how Bruno Mars was big when he dropped “Uptown Funk” or “24k Magic”.

If you are of a certain age then you know. I remember many times seeing my family tear itself apart over Seal. Fights at clubs, etc. shyt was crazy but so much love and understanding came out of it. The ramifications are still felt today. The man survived being poisoned with lupus over his political views and went on to help free tens of thousands of people from the acoustic wastelands they found themselves in.

i went to See Seal in concert tonight and he was amazing. Dude sounds just like he did in the 90’s! Go see him if his tour comes to your town. He performed a lot of the songs from his first two albums celebrating thirty years of music.
