What messed up bone thugs legacy was the "Mo Thugs" trash that was released after their classics. They were always "out of date".

those mo thugs tapes were dope.

if anything, they were before their time. when they dropped, I wasn't feeling people like graveyard shift until going back and listening. like, I used to scratch my disc up, going str8 to the bone verses. now I'm bumpin the whole joint.

and everybody wanted a soulja boy solo.
edit: I just peeped your screen name. THE IRONY.

One of my favorite Krayzie verses of all time :whew:

2 of my fav groups coming up. Bone & Boys II Men.

Its like both of these extremely popular groups never existed:mjcry:

Boys II Men: Its Almost Like They Never Existed

at least boyz II men didn't get written out of the history books. they still get proper acknowledgement & placement. Centric even did one of their soul train specials on them last summer.
on the flipside, bone thugs do better business touring, despite the snubs.

but i'll say this; theres so many parallels between these two groups.

both came in under the goat family trees of their respective genres - NWA & New Edition.
and people never acknowledge that bone thugs & boyz II men surpassed the success of those groups.

both groups alienated a lot of their original core audience with bad branding & an overload of sappy singles, after B2M parted with bivins, and Eazy died.

Clevelander here.......... I remember when Bone dropped Creepin on a Come Up, I was in 11th grade. That's all you heard ALL OVER THE CITY!!!! Bone Thugs. Was working in a grocery store with my boys from school, when Bone came on we was hype as hell, rapping verses like we wrote them.

Then E.1999 came out and it was a celebration on the radio and in the streets.

Who can forget the classic with 2Pac...

I miss that era so bad....... About the time OutKast dropped the classic Southern...........

i was a big bone fan when i was younger. so i have a couple reason why they are irrevelant.
1. really no big no 1 hits besides crossroads, first of the month, thuggish ruggish bone hardcore fans can tell you more but casual rap fans probably only name these three songs
2. dont know what they were saying
3 no ties to a coast. back then you had to be ties to a coast either east or west lil bit off the south even when they were hot thry didnt get the love they deserve plus with no ties to a coast didnt to many other rappers had them on features.
4 no one in the group was charismatic. like with wutang you had a method man or odb. or with oukast you had dre 3000. with bone you had nobody who was over the top with that would make you wanna to pay them some attention
5. eazy e death after he died nobody had a true plan for bone to guide them.

1. bone thugs had one of the most stacked collections of hits in hip-hop history. you left so many hits out of your post. shoot, even mo thugs family had a #1 rap song on billboard. lol @ bone only having three smash hits. that's ridiculous.
4. bizzy bone didn't have top-notch charisma now??? just because the media never got behind him, lets not act like he didn't exist.

and he didn't have to dress in drag to do it. show me where a mid-level ass andre 3000 ever remotely shut chit down like this when he stepped to the mic or onstage. you up here putting a rapper that got light claps over a rapper that blew the roof off of buildings.

nah. a lot of people are taking the OP's post out of context.
hes trying to ask why their legacy doesn't get the shine it deserves.

but I'm glad you listed those songs, cuz that other poster who just said bone only had like 3 big records, is out of his mind!!!

krayzie's verse sounded unreal.

like literally UNREAL.

that's one of my favorite verse of all-time period, by any rapper.

Along with A$AP, Dipset is another crew that grew up idolizing Bone. Bone had all these NY crews stanning them:banderas:
