Michael Bay and for whatever reason didnt network with Apatow right
You could say it was because she was a limited actress but I would say she actually wanted to break out of that perception and while Jennifer's Body might be overrated a tad and her acting still not amazing it kinda showed she could do something a bit more than what people percieved her. She started to get into a lot of the smaller comedies for a minute there (this is 40 and that movie with Paul Rudd where she's the younger GF).
She's still been working and its mostly been smaller movies with big name casts but the problem with that is unlike say the 90s and 00s those movies can get delayed and never see the light of day. So now you have a situation where it looks like she's disappeared.
She does have some comedy ensemble movie comedy coming out that came not sure

but i wonder how she and her husband pay the bills. He hasn't acted in a min according to IMDB and she's on New Girl from time to time
