In Africa, polygamy works just fine because women place lineage above dikk.
As a woman, if you place dikk, attention and affection above your children's paternity, polygamy makes no sense at all.
In polygamous societies, women are fine sleeping alone at night and not getting all that love and affection as long as they can get a worthy father for their children.
