I said way back when Texas was on that bullshyt like stopping Louisiana residents at the border that Abbot wasn't handling it right and the number of infections in Texas was much higher than they were reporting.

They should have locked everything down until fall with the exception of restaurants, grocery stores, pharmacies, and other essential businesses.

These Republicans were in a hurry to open the economy back up which was entirely political.

You have a holiday like the 4th of July coming and people are going to gather.

If you think this shyt is a mess now wait intl they start trying to put 70,000-100,000 people in these stadiums in the fall for football season.

Shyt is going to be mess and I would be surprised if we weren't back on stay at home orders for a time.

Feels like some of these places barely even had a lockdown. It was negligent to open things up the way they did without mandating PPEs. Some businesses like gyms and shyt shouldn't have been opened and I said this from time. Trump couldn't act like a leader though and encouraged them to open cuz all he cares about is the election.

As far as football, did they say they were going to allow crowds? That would be very stupid.

Um. what? I'm guessing you mean curbside only. I agree with your plan in theory because it makes sense. However, how would we fund a multi month lockdown like you're proposing? I'm not being nasty either, I truly want your input. I believe only the Federal Government has the resources to sustain the people, the healthcare battle against the virus and prop up the economy while it is on pause. The current Administration and Congress don't even wish to add to the pitiful stimulus they doled out in April, do you believe they'd be cooperative in providing the massive long term stimulus needed to maintain proper lockdowns, social distancing and continued battle against the virus? Or, do you think that we should lockdown anyway, without stimulus, consequences be damned?

Opening up the economy during the pandemic isn't a good solution either, by the way. You're just buying some time by pushing the worst of the economic and public health concerns back by a few months. We're really debating cyanide or the bullet.

They wanted to bring the economy back. I agree with you about shyt like gyms that should have been closed until this was done.

College football especially generates to much money. They'll try to have crowds even if they are at 50-75 percent capacity.

Here in Louisiana LSU powers are pushing the high school association leaders based on what benefits them. There will be fans in those stadiums in the fall and this cases are going to creep back up.

Social distancing doesn't work without socialism. I once said it could never work in a country like America. I was wrong, it can, you just can't implement under Capitalism's rules with a stingy Capitalist stimulus. The people need an incentive to upend their entire way of life and $1200 and countless trillions going into an abyss aren't enough. When people get restless and more pressing concerns hit close to home, we have seen just how easy it is to put the Coronavirus concern on hold. If there's no stimulus and no economic reopening jobs would continue to be lost and UI would eventually cease to be paid and then we'd all be in the streets in the middle of a pandemic like we were the last couple of weeks. Did you all forget that by the way? The mass non social distanced protests? If they fueled further spread of the virus then we should be seeing the result of that next week. I hope it doesn't dishearten some of you. Should people have not protested?

thing is they could have brought the economy back while mandating social distancing and PPEs. They could have forced businesses to do more to protect customers. They thought too short term. They got beaches open and shyt, not having severe fines for parties and clubs. They weren't serious man.
