Take me back.
Besides the obvious, there's a few really interesting stats about Slammin'.
1.) Only guy with three 60 homer seasons and he didn't lead the league in any of those years.
2.) When Bonds hit 73, Sosa hit 64.
3.) He finished 9th in MVP voting when he hit 63 in 1999 and his WAR was only 4.8!

I remember summer ‘98 the Chicago sun times on the front page had Maris 61 & pics of Sosa ,McGwire & Griffey with their hr totals cuz they were all on pace to break the record(griffey Jr eventually faded away) on the front page every day. Yea you can hit me with that Larry Holmes that’s when newspapers were still relevant for news but it was dope that hr record chase was wild

Ronald Acuña Jr with a grandslam to reach 30HRs/60SBs on the season. First player in MLB history to do so! On the day he got married as well!

Those new stolen base rules are great. That said, he's still probably over 50 under the old rules. He's having a historic season. Too bad he signed that 95 Bad Boy contract
