Ohtani is like the Marino of baseball go out there tossed 5 TDs but defense gives up 6

Angels are delusional if they thing he’s staying — even if they offer him a bag. Dude is already counting down the days until the regular season is over so he can sign elsewhere one second after the final World Series out

Wouldn’t shock me at all if he slid right over to the Dodgers

The only way he stays is if they win the World Series but that’s almost impossible

The ultimate boss move would be Atlanta throwing $600+ million at Ohtani since they have everybody on their team signed for well under market value.

They'd probably win five WS.

Pending Ohtani’s health, you aren’t wrong.

Dude is JJ Watt right now on that Angels team :francis:

Paredes just hit a two-RBI double in Detroit. I'd once again like to point out that he had two home runs in 57 games in a Tigers uniform while he has 41 and counting the past two seasons with Tampa. :unimpressed:

I still don't understand how Miguel Cabrera lost all his power once he hit 34. He hit 38 in 2016 and he has 62 since then. :mindblown:
It's unusual in the last 20 years or so.

It doesn't help that Cabrera has never really taken care of himself physically. It also doesn't help that he hits in Detroit.
And to some small degree (I couldn't say how much), it doesn't help that his teams have been largely awful, so opponents haven't had to pitch to him.

Is it possible Cabrera was on the juice in his prime? Possible. But look at him. If that guy was on the juice, it was probably grape juice, lol.

Mickey Mantle was done at 36.
Harmon Killebrew played until 39 but was done at 36/37.
Reggie Jackson played until 41 but was done at 37.

Really the guys who have remained strong into their late 30s and 40s were guys connected to the juice: Bonds, Ortiz...

Even with the power being gone, it's kind of remarkable that Cabrera can still hit .250 at 40 years old.

I think it's because he didn't take care of himself but his average has been respectable this whole time. Pujols still had power through his decline; Votto has 11 HRs through 35 games this year and had 36 in 2021; Nelson Cruz never lost it but he did test positive in 2013 (he had to have stayed on something; his numbers don't make any sense).

On a side note, Wander Franco has had a personal defensive highlight reel tonight in Detroit.
