:ohhh:

Harris County Public Library will be giving out chromebooks and wifi hotspots for FREE to checkout for an unlimited time period next month in January.

You will need a harris county library card, which you can sign up for for free at any hcpl location.

And remember this is Harris COUNTY Public Library, not Houston Public Library.

Tell all your folks, friends and acquaintances that might need laptops.

7 public spending propositions for the city on the ballet for the election today.

Wont result in higher property tax.

All 10 Houston, Harris County bond propositions pass, authorizing nearly $1.7 billion in funding

The city and county bond packages will provide infrastructure and facilities upgrades for a range of government services, including transportation, public safety and parks and recreation.

The city gov just keeps embarassing itself with this.

Black American local business communities in the city really need to learn how to set up and effectively use hyper local sub political entities like Management Districts and TIRZs to get shyt like this cleaned up and fund other infrastructure projects to make these places more livable.

The city is just way to slow to act and/or doesn't place these communties on a high priority. At least with TIRZs and Management Districts commercial tax dollars go towards their particular neighborhood entity ONLY so they can use it to fund and manage their own issues and not the city government as a whole.

There's a reason why messican barriors like Near Northside and Airline Dr area at least LOOK cleaner and also have better infrastructure and amenities even though those neighborhoods are just as poor and dangerous if not more than nearby black communities like 5th ward and Kashmere garden.

Their local businsses communties run effective TIRZs and Management districts.
