Fire officials investigating explosion at Stafford warehouse
STAFFORD, Texas – Fire officials are investigating an explosion at a warehouse building in the Stafford area early Thursday.
Stafford Police said they started receiving calls just before 4 a.m. of a loud noise. They were the first to arrive on the scene in the 300 block of Brand Lane near South Main Street.
Firefighters were then called and located a small fire in the building belonging to Jimerson Underground Inc.
They were able to quickly extinguish the fire and began looking for secondary hazards.
Luckily, no one was inside the building at the time of the explosion
The building suffered extensive damage. The cause of the explosion is still being investigated.
Jimerson Underground does underground electrical work. The owners think that a stored competition barbecue pit may be linked to the explosion.
