Be sure to make reservations breh. Its always booked. BTW, Yelp is an EXCELLENT source to get honest reviews on all restaurants in Houston. Brehs in Houston really use it alot. Great way to pick good places to eat.

Yelp is a hustle. I work doing marketing for local businesses and I found out last year that, yes you can put your business on Yelp but unless you pay them a fee they ask for, Yelp only filters out good reviews and puts in bad ones. If you do pay Yelp the fee, they filter out negative reviews and only put good reviews. Yelp is nothing but a hustle to me.

I know you motherfukkers couldn't give two shyts about Metro but they might be finally providing the city with the transit system we need. I did some work for them on this on the Stakeholder and committee and some behind the scenes work as well. Hopefully, the transit ignorant public won't shout the plan down and MAYBE riding the bus won't be so painful in a year's time. The old Metro bus drivers need to GTFO though. The young ones are the only thing keeping the on time performance from being in the fukking 40 percents. And the young female bus drivers are just MUAH :ohlawd: Anyway......

I live in The Heights area.

Edit - I've heard about Gatlin's. Never checked it out, but I plan on it.

Shady Acres area is a gem breh. Kind of took a hit when they closed El Gran Malo, but there is still Gaitlins BBQ, Hubcap, and Pappa Genos. Then Petrol Station is right down the road from there as well along with Millers.

I've hit up Petrol Station and Pappa Genos a couple of times. The thing about BBQ for me is that I love sauce. Texas BBQ seems to be more about the dry rub :manny:

93.7 is doing big things so far :ehh:. Although Shade45 is my main station, 93.7 is my top local joint. I'm just hoping it doesn't back slide into corporate radio like 97.9 did.

Is Eddie V's, Oceanaire, and Houstons worth the hype or is it another overpriced place to spend money at?

Eddie V's is a special occassion type of place for me, but I've never had a bad meal there, Oceanaire wouldn't be my first choice for seafood, see above, and I haven't been to Houston's.

You are kind of handicapping here because the majority of excellent steak houses in Houston are chains of some sort.

But Perry's is excellent however I'd go to Vic and Anthonys, Pappa Bros Steakhouse, and then Perry's/Flemings would be next on the list that is if I'm not going to......

Killens in Pearland. :mjpls:

:ohlawd: my FAVORITE steakhouse...the food is just :whoo::wow:

Kileens is definitely worth the drive. Honestly not sure about Heights barbeque spots, but my buddy owns a restaurant in the heights callededdirs

Eddie Vs is easily the best restaurant in Houston. Absolutely amazing experience. Oceanaire is cool but your paying more for location and ambience as the food is just OK. Houston's is definitely old news honestly.

Any of yall wondering how many cars can fit in Houston?

The construction is getting to a ridiclious level and the only expansion I see in Houston is on I-45. Traffic is going to get a lot worse, especially within the city.

Yall voted not to expand the University Line in 2012..so that didn't help...would have been nice. Otherwise, its going to take some commuter rail.and better planning in general..... They're predicting 3.5 million more people in the metro in 20 years.... :damn: .... If nothing of substance happens, and if building the Grand Parkway does nothing (which it may or may not), then traffic is going to be backed up for 12 hours a day from here to Bolivia.............If nothing else get a real estate license... :ehh: :eat:

2035 Regional Transportation Plan Update - Houston-Galveston Area Council

MORE THAN 1 MILLION new residents will relocate to the Houston metropolitan area in the next decade, and 3.5 million new residents are expected by 2035. The Regional Transportation Plan (RTP) is the long-range transportation plan that identifies the roadway, transit and other transportation projects that are projected to be needed in the region for the next 20+ years.

There was no vote to "not expand the University Line." In 2003 Houston voted YES on a referendum to build 5 rail lines and increase bus service 50% by 2012. NIMBY CACs and filthy GOP Congressman John Culberson managed to starve Metro of the needed funds to build the University and Uptown lines and the mismanagement of Metro from 2004-09 by a band of east coast crooks delayed the remaining three rail lines by two years and counting. Bus service was actually slashed by nearly 20% and what remained was terrible.
