Market for safeties is super deep. We get Earl on a deal with less guaranteed money for future flexibility. I don’t see this as an Ed Reed 2.0, Earl still has plenty left in the tank. I planned the Reed deal before ink ever hit paper, Thomas actually brings a lot to the table. Land him, another safety, maybe trade for Ramsey then get Bell and Oline help, all of a sudden we can talk about being back in the playoffs next season.

I can see them giving Earl a big two year deal. By the time that's up it'll be the one time to pay Watson.

With those losses, you BETTER be replacing them with some combo of Thomas (Barring coming back healthy)/Amos/Darby/Roby. I'm cool with them wanting to entirely revamp the secondary if that's the plan, but not if you're just focusing on the draft. You also need guys on the outside. You don't know if Colvin can be an outside guy yet, and he is still not fully recovered from injury himself. JJoe either needs to be cut, or only covering TEs in the slot. Basically, you need two guys on the outside, and somebody next to Reid, and they have plenty of money and cap space to make it happen. You cannot go into the regular season (or even training camp) field Colvin and JJoe on the outside, and simply moving Hal up next to Reid.
