Is it me?
Or am I the only one who liked HP3 over HP2?

HP2 I liked because for a young nikka, that was like what shaped my view of what College was all aboutIs it me?

HP2 was great. I think it's actually the strongest movie of the series...
It wasn't a clown movie, you don't even have to dig too deep beneath the surface to see the messages that that movie was attempting to convey to the black youth. Black History, Black Intellect, The true meaning of Friendship, overcoming certain stereotypes on race, sex, and relationships. ALL of those themes were present throughout the movie. The Black Professor trying to get Kid to understand the IMPORTANCE of James Baldwin and Marcus Garvey spoke, to a certain degree, on the notion that just BECAUSE your black, it doesn't mean anything if you don't understand what it MEANS to be black.
Play being selfish and using Kid's Scholarship check, to finally coming to a realization on the IMPORTANCE of education and why Kid was so adamant on college, to selling his most prized possession to make up for what he had done and show Kid that he was truly his friend; again speaks to a message of understanding, unity, and most importantly maturity. Life isn't about just chasing skins, partying, and being a player. It's about sacrifice and also doing whats morally right.
Loved House Party 2, really i think the whole trilogy was great and I salute Kid N Play for utilizing Hip Hop and ALL it's themes in a positive contrast to the other urban films of the era..

The Martin joke when Pam and Tommy were staying with Gina and Martin cause Mad-Dog-No-Good was looking for him might actually comes true...
"Ya'll wanna watch House Party 6?"
I'm actually surprised there hasn't been a House Party franchise reboot with Kid and Play as parents.
I have to disagree with you on a couple of things, and add a theory on top of all that
1.) first modern era hiphop movie Did you not see Breakin 1/2 electric boogaloo
Fatboys and Disorderlies moved units son. All you can eat
The Last Dragon is considered a hip-hop martial arts film. A few more but you get the point.
2.) House Party should of stopped after Part 3, not 2. Yeah it went in a more immature direction (bad pun intended) but like you said, they was getting old and it was a way to keep the party going so to speak. And for what it is, it still had tons of GOAT scenes...

My theory tho... Dat nikka Jamal is the reason House Party 5 morphed into what it is now
