He loves the white b*stard boys more than his black b*stard boys. I understand it looks more noble considering Rhaenyra was married to Laenor, but he knew his son was gay, and he knew those Strong boys weren’t his blood. He said it himself. Nobody remembers blood, they remember names.

Nah, iirc they hinted at Corlys/Rhae sorta knowing Laenor was "different" in S1. It was a scene between corlys and rhaenys at driftmark I think.

Laenor being gay wasn't an issue. All he had to do was get Rhaenyra pregnant.
