this season was complete and utter confusing shyt

spoilers for those asking:

from what i could understand, theres a new family in the mix, very powerful, the shepherds, brother and sister. francis had made some deals with them before dying, that claire will not honor. claire has secretary durant, the newspaper guy tom, and another lady (can't remember her name, older lady who spoke russian) taken out. durant had left the country and faked her death, but still got found and killed. the vice president teamed up with the shepherds against claire, even showing her the body of the guy she killed. francis left everything he had to doug in his will, including an audio diary that implicates claire in some of his crimes. turns out doug is the one who killed francis. claire is pregnant, and is about to drop a nuke in syria. someone inside the white house is supposedly going to assassinate claire, so she gets rid of everyone out of the white house. doug confronts claire at the end, and she ends up stabbing him with the letter opener francis gave him, and he dies
:katty: The fukk is this?!?

Shangri-La
They sharked the 25th Amendment plotline from Homeland, another show that needs to be put down but there was so much going on in this season with nothing sticking. The assassination attempt just went after 20
mins, Kathy had no real reason to come back (on the show), I’d have preferred they investigate and try to prosecute/impeach her and have the Congress doing conferences and speeches over the Shepherd storyline. The prob is also they really didn’t develop Claire throughout the years so it’s painfully obvious she would make an underwhelming lead. It isn’t even worth critiquing/exploring seriously because I’m having a very hard time seeing how they put these storylines together other than to give characters a final send-off. The all-female cabinet was ridic, they def didn’t paint Claire as a feminist or woman-leaning. Then the shrewd, manipulative parts missed the mark- she didn’t do anything particularly appalling.

Literally had to drudge through the episode, they wrote her so bitter and awful "Forget what Frank told you". "It was all a lie"....right. I get him getting "Metoo'd" meant he couldn't ever be on the show, but trying to act like 5 years of content didn't happen is ridiculous and insulting to the audience. Then the ending to the first ep....was far too cringe. Her flipping the bird with his ring was way too feminazi I had to stop...I more than likely won't get through the season.
