Hours after Chip to SF, Eagles hire...Doug Pederson...as their new Head Coach

Eagles brass loves Duce Staley but the transition from position coach to Head coach can take decades

Lot of guys who are HC's now were position coaches back in the 80's.

I'm just a believer in opportunity.

You got Pederson who went from QB coach to offensive coordinator after one year. Granted it was Reid who brought him to KC but after one year as a QB coach he's a coordinator, he's a coordinator for 2 years and now he's a head coach.

Duce started out on Special Teams and been a running back coach the last 3 years. This is the kind of stuff Stephen A was harping on last week, why is Duce making lateral moves with his peers ascending the coaching ranks in the same amount of time?

mcaddo has been with the giants for like 2 seasons. Penderson has been with reid since like 2009 so i dont think its the same thing

Also, what's wrong with Doug Pederson? He has ties to the organization and has helped energize a previously stagnant Chiefs offense.

If our RB coach was one of the most decorated players in our team history? Absolutely. A lot of ya'll Eagle fans don't see it cause ya'll are new fans who came over when Vick signed or when Chip came aboard. I grew up watching Duce, just want to see the brother get a chance to advance his career thats all. Joey Porter gonna be a coordinator in a few years while Duce going to be over there in Philly still trying to coach up whatever RB ya'll pluck off our roster. Funny how Staley has to "work his way up like everyone else" when everyone else like Pederson are getting hand outs

for all yall who say "who?"...who the fukk was Andy Reid? a fat QB coach in GB- he wasnt even the OC . Who was Mike Tomlin ( a obscure DB coach)

Lurie and Roseman are trying to copy what the Steelers did...hire a coordinator and then surround him with NFL lifers ( like they did when Tomlin was given Arians as OC and Lebeau as DC)

I'm a fan since 03. I remember what he did with buckhalter and Brian. You don't hire people based off decoration or else you'd have Irvin and prime time as your coaches.

I'm not saying I love the pederson hire but he had one of the best coaches in eagles history endorsing him and he is of a much higher rank than duce. He's getting picked over Duce 9 times out of 10.
