I just looked it up. They start at $460 fot a one room now. My home girl was staying there before me, but she was getting married and was stuck with the lease. I just paid up the rest of her lease and moved in. When it expired they let me stay at that rate. I think it's because I paid so much up front and I was teaching at the high school across the street.

2 br prob around 600-650 then

Numbers for states really doesn't say much. Nobody moves to Austin, Dallas or Houston and says hey it's quite cheap. Or the opposite, a small town and figure, damn it's gonna get really expensive. The distribution between metropolitan city/large city/small town etc. differs over states. I'd rather see the average in the largest city per state, and also scaled by average salary
