30% of your monthly income is the bench mark.

So if u make $15.00 an hour you should only be paying no more than $720 a month. And that’s based on gross income so the real number is less than that.
Need to rework your math breh.

you forgot to include taxes.

They should be paying $650 a month for 30% at 15/hr

One good thing about Mississippi... the cost of living is so low. When I lived there, I was teaching and my rent for a 2 bedroom was $295 a month with no other fees but electric. I used to pay 6 months all at once.

Keeping my overhead low, and my understand high
This guy is running for office too :snoop:

Bruh...in my community, many homes are 2/1 and 3/1.

Families were raised generation after generation here.

If what we want is affordable housing, let's start by giving people the basics. A roof over their head. 1 individual has no necessity for 2 bedrooms. But at least they'll have a roof over their head comfortably.

shyt...why not make the chart "3-bedroom Hosing Wages" it'll look even more dire; but it won't make any more sense.

From the article...

The report calculates a “housing wage,” which is the minimum a full-time worker must earn in order to afford to rent a modest one- or two-bedroom home without spending more than 30% of their income. Above that percentage, they are considered cost-burdened and therefore vulnerable to unexpected financial pressures. This vulnerability is exacerbated for the almost 8 million renters in America who spend more than 50% of their income on housing costs. Considered severely cost-burdened, they are forced to choose between housing and other basic needs, such as food, transportation and child care.

:whew:

imagine getting that deal now:ahh:
I just looked it up. They start at $460 fot a one room now. My home girl was staying there before me, but she was getting married and was stuck with the lease. I just paid up the rest of her lease and moved in. When it expired they let me stay at that rate. I think it's because I paid so much up front and I was teaching at the high school across the street.
