If we want to do something about it, why not educate the younger generation of young boys about sexual assault and what it means. Also, more openness about any deviant desires young men and boys may have so we can help them psychologically.

No I dont keep my doors open. But its not like we just say "Lock your doors and pray, you can't stop the robbers anyway" there are still laws, police, and preventative measures out there that put the onus on the thieves themselves rather than just telling the people what they should do to avoid being a victim. Its 50/50. The problem with you guys and these arguments is, neither side wants to concede on anything. I gave you an ideal that I believe would cut down sexual assault, and your 1st response is "Nobody"s willing to tell anybody about their deepest sexual desires. I think dressing modestly is a good thing for both genders. But, also informing boys very early about the negative effects of sexual assault and harrasment is also important.

You're lying. Nobody has made the argument that longer skirts would completely stop/hinder/obliterate the sexualization of of female students. Erykah didnt imply that if girls simply wore longer skirts that they wouldn't be a distraction to anyone. Those are your arguments and implications projected onto others. You do do that because you can't argue against what people are actually saying. All Badu and people who agree with her are saying is that school girls shouldn't wear short skirts to school because it's inappropriate. Since you cat argue against that you create straw men arguments pulled from your own ass to argue against.

So men aren't distracted Otherwise men are distracted and that's a problem that can only be solved by girls wearing longer skirts. No responsibility on anyone else anywhere else. No acknowledgement that no matter what a girl/woman wears they are sexualized.

If it were just about the skirt itself, we'd be having a different conversation. It's not. It's bigger than that. "Girls should wear longer skirts to avoid distracting heterosexual men in school because nature." Not "Short skirts on underaged girls are inappropriate in school." She specifically singled out girls and hetero men with this and zeroed in on girls' bodies all in one swoop.

This is a problem with a lot of women who have a feminist mentality. You can't accept responsibility for your own actions. You can't even hold women responsible for dressing appropriately at school. In your mind females have no responsibility for the type of attention that they bring to themselves. To you, girls can wear short skirts and other provocative clothing that shows off their bodies, but it's all the mens' fault if they look at them in a sexually way. These is why feminists aren't to be taken seriously.

The fact that you literally believe it's even possible for it to be a girl's responsibility to make sure she isn't sexualized by men is crazy. I keep saying that a girl doesn't have to wear a short skirt to get attention, she doesn't have to wear a short skirt to be a distraction to a man, she just has to exist. Because to exist as a girl/woman in a hypersexual society is to exist in a sexualized space when it comes to heterosexual men. The assumption that provocative clothing is the beginning or the cause of sexualizing someone is laughable. It's what makes Erykah's tweets problematic.
