The novelty of "heyyyy we have all your favorite artists performing on one stage" like someone said already, there's a festival for everything now. Governor's Ball is taking place right now at Randall's Island. The lineup they have is the best they can do because they're not really gonna get much better than that at the moment.

Nas and SZA are at Governor's Ball to perform tonight. Tyler, The Creator and Lil Wayne were there Friday. It doesn't feel like Summer Jam is something we'll all be talking about the next day. That's been replaced by whatever festival is nearby you.

oh, and tonight is not gonna be helped by the fact like always, it's gonna rain.

true but well most of these new artists are also occupying different lanes. Hot 97 when it was at its peak it was because the artists were popular in the street and in the rest of the country. Most these new artists are occupying different niche crowds and that's it except for Cardi but I guess she isn't counted as being a popular act around here? :manny:

that alone makes it not as bad as other sets. It just felt like in the past, everyone who was anyone made that a stop, but it's like award shows now. Only a handful of shows actually have the ability to get everyone under one roof.

I know they can’t get the drakes, j coles of the world ...

But can’t they get mid tier nikkas like 21 savage, lil baby etc...and nikkas on the come up buzzin like dababy...and in nyc, a nikka like Lil Tjay has some buzz

I just think they are so out of touch with where “hip hop” is..and festivals booking all the artists ahead of time for the real bag, is killing their vibe

I mean cassanova..just came out as a guest ..3 minutes after his set...to perform a song he just performed on his own set ...show is a reach overall
