:mjlol:The worsssttt.. had the black man go out like that :stopitslime:that piece of sh--- movie :deadmanny:. I think Netflix just added all the bad Friday the 13ths to their cue recently, Jason In Space and Jason Goes to Hell... lol.

Oh my damn I watched Jason goes to hell on Saturday when I was coming down from my fever I had on Friday. Movie made me think I was having an actual fever dream :russ:

That shyt is fukkery personified but none of it good fukkery. I sat through the whole thing and still have no idea what the hell happened. Only dope part was the end with Freddy.

Jason X on the other hand?:blessed: The best type of fukkery there is

The Devil lived in Tales from the Hood.
Yeah. I think the first real horror movie black villain that I ever saw was, Candyman.
LL Cool J must have a "no die" contract in the horror movies that he's in. He survived Deep Blue Sea and Halloween. Of course, he was the comedy relief in both movies. :shaq2:How that did Samuel Jackson in DBS was total disrespect :mjcry::dahell:

:laff::dead:LOL!! I was about to edit my post and say that I added them both to my watchlist, just for fukkery entertainment purposes :russ:so cringe, didn't know they were still in circulation. Last time I watched I was 4ever ago, I have below zero expectations, I already know. I was browsing around Friday night for something to watch and saw both come up in my reccs. all random. I know I had the :dwillhuh:ummm why?.. then I thought.. :ld:why not?

Yeah I was on BMDs site and one of the writers on the doc used to write for them. Well two of them did, actually. One now is the editor in chief of fangoria and the other started her own site, graveyardshift sisters. They talked about doing a documentary about black horror films and black characters in horror films back in 2017 and damn it all, shyt became a reality. The link I posted is her explaining it in her own words.

Also thinking of picking up this book because I’ve seen this author talk on so many movie documentaries and specials.

I said it before but if you like or love horror and don’t subscribe to shudder, I really don’t understand why you don’t like happiness
you keep putting me on to some good info, appreciate it. I have a book backlog right now, but I'll check that book out to add to my collection- that's different that it's actually a horror book in documentary format based on black historical analysis of the genre. Nice.

I’ve got receipts for both of those movies:

Sam was originally cast as LL’s role but he turned it down. He didn’t like the idea of playing a chef. At that time in his career, and probably still, Sam didn’t want his characters to have certain jobs and felt he needed to carry it that way because he was a black man and he had sway. So the director created the new role for him and told him he’d have the best scene in the movie. Sam was with it cause he thought it was cool as hell. They were going for an homage to Alien.

So LL’s character was never meant to die but he wasn’t supposed to be a big role. He ended up getting a bigger role in reshoots because the movie wasn’t testing great and people loved his character.

As far as Halloween goes, and I haven’t been able to corroborate this shyt at all, but I heard on a podcast that he simply told the writers and producers they couldn’t kill the only black person in the movie and they agreed. Simple

Fangoria is a horror mag from the 80s and 90s that went dormant and then came back last year. They release quarterly. Issue 2 should be out this month. My sister says she got me a subscription for Christmas but I won’t believe it till I see an issue in my mailbox :francis:

And yeah I found that book on amazon. Definitely copping it.

shudder ? man i'm not pay for another streaming service
That's the BEST one for horror streaming. :whoa:They have literally all the decent horror films, docs and series. If I had to pick a choice, I would dump Cinemax or Showtime before I would get rid of Shudder.

welcome. For the $4.99, it's worth it to me. Screambox and Monsters are other genre subscriptions- but I bushed them after the free trial period, not worth it and it's repetitive since Shudder has most of the selections and more variety anyway.
