I can imagine back then you could probably find hoodoo supplies almost anywhere

They are everywhere.

I am working on a GreenBook Database for my home state -- where I want to have Historical Markers created for landmarks or now just land - that was once listed as places where Black people could stay during Jim Crow.

I couldn't believe my small town in Michigan had more than a few spots. NO ONE would have ever though. I wouldn't have, Now, those spots are just land -- or ran down houses. Those spots are historic and deserve some type of funding or grants -- but the Black people back home probably don't know they are Black historical landmarks.

I say all that to say the Newspapers are DIRE for research.

----

Also, I found three of my 3rd Great Grandfathers -- 2 of my paternal and one of maternal 3 Great Grandfathers on Newspapers.com. It's beautiful -- and I recommend all to use the site or go to the Library and use them.
