Whites have literally claimed it as their own these days. This white jewish lady who married a Black dude owns the largest website about Hoodoo.

Hoodoo - Conjure - Rootwork: -- Definition and History

It's really sad.

But, It still is in many Black households -- but sadly - those who had family members who practiced they didn't pass on the info.
MemphisConjure.com
Is Black owned and based in Memphis.

@xoxodede

Thanks for posting these newspaper clippings. My moms people Louisiana, we think my grandma's father was Creole (he looked like a White man). I'ma have to ask my grandma what she knows about Lousiana Voodoo. My grandma uses to anoint me with oil and stuff now that I think about it.
You are welcome! -- I am adding more over the next few days.

Any states, cities or counties -- anywhere you want me to search?

Alexandria, Louisiana

How are you searching this stuff, because my paternal evil ass slave master grandfather is very famous and his Black "wife" is very famous and I might need to do some new digging. Been thinking about doing that ancestry DNA stuff.

I use Newspapers.com.

I use it to search for news, obituaries and other mentions of my family members and ancestors. Also, to learn about lynching and other events in the cities, counties and areas my ancestors lived or where enslaved.

I'll search Alexandria and post what I find :smile:
