SOMETHIN REAL FO YO ASS IN THESE HANDS!!!!
my nikka, you just feeling some temporary insanity, tomorrow, you'll be glad to be where you are.

i get it though, why you're tired:
I think all people who didn't just do the "college-straight-to-professional" route who have gone over to the "other" side of things eventually feel so fukkin stressed, and start asking why we even doing this.

But the worst thing for me, I think is that most of your friends\family aren't able to relate to the stresses of this "never really off" crap.

It pisses me off everytime my OLDER brother calls me during some random ass hour in the workday (11:34am, for example), to try and talk to me about his new rims, or to ask me for 20 dollars....

Even my wife looks at me sometimes like, "b-b-but nikka, you off the phones now, you can't really be that tired\drained, can you?"
The pity\mutual understanding for me stopped the minute I jumped into this "professional" life.

I feel like people are making a false link between the burbs and responsibility

When I lived in the hood I still had to go to work... living in the hood wont change that

Actually might make things worse w/all the distractions and the lazy energy

Plus if you grew up in the hood you associate it w/childhood... but moving back won't make you a kid again. Life is harsh

My Link wasn't with the burbs and responsibility (no sure about anyone else)...

I made an assumption that if you have a job that's paying you significantly more money than another, chances are, that job comes with a lot more responsibility as well. Unless you're just switching your career field altogether.

What the problem is... when we get more money, we change our lifestyles to match the money we're making.

If you wanted to, I'm sure you could revert back (at least somewhat) to the way you were living before, and save twice as much money as you did before. Get a cheaper house/apartment that's not as nice. Go get a used car that just gets you from point A to point B. Eat lower quality food, that's cheaper.

And I could do that too... but I won't. Because I'd rather live more comfortably and healthy in more aspects of life, with a few more bills, than go back to the way I was living because it requires less responsibility and I save a larger PERCENTAGE of my money.

True. I can't revert now because I have a family that I support but of I did not please believe I'd be a hell of a lot more liquid. Part of my problem was coming into that kind of money so quickly without proper guidance on how to make correct financial business decisions.

I read through all your comments.
Nothing really is stopping you from downsizing your home from a big house to a medium house in the burbs, and getting a regular car and suv.

freedom. you know that saying about black men and the army. i think it equally applies to corporate america. you gain wealth, but you lose a piece of yourself.

aside from that, i don't know. i know i was a lot happier back then than now. and don't get me wrong, i'm happy now.

the less you own, the more you appreciate it. people dont understand that until they've lost it or they are miserable working 10 hours a day doing some corporate shyt

Just strive towards a higher paying position so you can eventually retire early, and have hood nikka freedom only with a higher income and no bills.
