Just talked to to someone about eating fried chicken in the "hood"...... Why do these restaurants never offer grilled chicken. I'm not falling for black people don't eat grilled or baked chicken........that's bs.....
Even more BS is the lack of black owned sit down restaurants that serve more than just fried foods.........my 2 cents.
I would think they don't bc it aint popular. But at the same time it might not be popular bc it isn't offered or discounted. With a restaurant i would think its easier to throw pre cooked frozen food in grease than is to grill up fresh food for individual orders.

Where do you stay? I stay in the south and every black sit down spot got baked chicken, pot roast, and salmon(some) on the menu....... I stopped at one today that even had grilled turkey wings..........

Houston right now....in 3rd Ward...other than the Jamaican spots, they all serve mainly fried and fattening foods......at least the ones I know about....

That's more of a Houston problem, than a black neighborhood one. There's a reason we're consistently at the top of the obesity rankings. Regardless of where you go around town you're going to be hard pressed to find health conscious eateries. There's probably 10 fried food places in the city for every one relatively healthy place.

Old article. I remember a thread about Black people selling pizza in the hood. Chinese food could certainly be done. We have a talent for adding our own special flair to food dishes and pretty much anything we choose to do.
